For those players who have family or coaches that have filmed all of their games, Highlight Reels make an exceptional tool to market you. Coaches and Recruiters want to see you in action against the competition and how you rate versus other players of your age group around the country. Athlete Discovery will take your best plays throughout your videos and combine them all into a montage that will showcase you and make you stand out versus the competition.
It is recommended for you and your coach or your parents to sit down with you and filter through the games you have played for a season. Think about 4-5 different categories you want to showcase in your Highlight Reel. Make note of the games file name and at what point in the game you are making a special play. What category does this play fall under? A typical highlight video will have between 45-50 “plays”. How you choose to divide these plays or focus on them is entirely up to you. When you are done, your notes should look like this:
Filename of Video, Start Time/End Time of the Play, Category of the Play
When you are ready, go to our Packages section and order your Highlight Reel. After making payment, you will be directed to a page whereby we can collect all of the essential information we need to create your video. This will include your academic and sports info. The last step will be to upload your files to us. We have a fantastic tool to get the information to us very easily called Terashare.
***Important – If you have not ordered a Skills Video with us, we will not have a high resolution picture of you in uniform. For customers ordering a Highlight Reel from out of our local area, we also will not have a high resolution picture of the athlete in uniform. It is recommended for the athlete to be in uniform and to have several different “poses” either with or without their game ball for us to use for the video. Please take this picture in a well-lit area and with a solid background and include it in your list of files you upload to us***
Once your Athlete Discovery representative receives the order and the files you have shared with us, we will go to work combining these plays into one video and by separating them by category. We will mark you in each play using a graphical beacon/arrow so whoever is watching will know which player you are from the rest of the team. We will also provide “book marks” on the video if viewed with a PC so a Coach or Recruiter can go directly to plays that fall under a certain category.
After the filming has concluded, your Athlete Discovery representative will be in touch with you when the video is complete. He/She will provide you with a YouTube link you can share with Coaches, Recruiters, Team Mates, Family and Friends.
